University of Mazandaran (UMZ), currently the largest state higher education center in Mazandaran province, had formerly consisted of several tertiary education centers.
In 1979 the centers were officially merged to form what is now known as the University of Mazandaran. In recent years, UMZ has made significant progress, expanding itself with vision both qualitatively and quantitatively.
UMZ consists of 12 faculties:
UMZ hosts more than 12,000 students who are currently studying at undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs and over 400 faculty members teaching and researching at different faculties of the university.
Until 2016, more than 15000 students graduated from different faculties of UMZ. Based on the policy of the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), UMZ is committed to providing high-quality education, innovative research at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels leading to scientific and technological achievements.
The Office of International and Scientific Cooperation (OISC) manages and oversees the international affairs of foreign students who study at UMZ.
Additionally, OISC is responsible for developing and administering international student exchange programs and signing and implementing memorandums along with participation in international seminars and conferences as well as cooperation with academic partners. OISC welcomes and provides various services for incoming international students and visiting staff.
